I just tonight finished Johanna Lindsey's The Heir. As usual her work was wonderful and had me flying through the pages! It wasn't my favorite book by her but was still wonderful.
A young man, whose scottish, is informed that he's heir to an Englishman (which of course he isn't thrilled about). He meets some interesting people including his upitty fiance whose been badmouthing him all over the place trying to get everyone to know she doesn't want to marry him. Its a little emotional, has its laughing points, and as always moves swiftly!
Now to pick another book to start on... hm, so many to pick from!

Some recent reads...
Well while I don't seem to read quite as fast as some of you I finished a couple
books recently.
First was An Affair to Remember by Karen Hawkins.
I enjoy her books, but most are kinda floaty. And I mean nothing bad by that lol
just that they're less serious and full of on the edge of your seatness that
some books have. I find the Talisman Ring series very interesting though. I
inadvertently read 1 other in the series before realizing i was starting in the
middle hehe.
Basically the plot of this story is that this earl inherits five kids from his
cousin who recently died and can't keep them in check. SO after going through
many governesses he breaks down and gets his sisters friend (whose family has
fallen on hard times so she has to work and is known as one of the best
governesses around). One thing leads to another and its an interesting story.

Next was Julia Quinn's Splendid.
I love Julia's work! It tends to do quite well at sucking me into the world and
feeling almost a part of things. This by the way is the first in the Blydon
series. Funny enough I've read the first book in three of her series now, all
great and I look forward to checking out the rest of them!
Story starts us in Boston. American heiress Emma Dunster's father decides she
should spend some time in England with his sister and children and perhaps
settle down. She wants very badly to take over his shipping company when all is
said and done but he keeps trying to say to her that the company sadly will
probably fail under a woman as no one will take her seriously. She goes to
England, agrees to go for a year even. She meets her leading man in a very
unconventional way and things push through in a fun and exciting topsy turvy
kind of way.

Now i also just recently finished reading Candace camp's And independent woman.
Its interesting. not totally boring by any means, but there seems to be a lot of
repeating certain things. and i don't just mean by certain characters... its a
little frustrating at times... Sadly this read didn't encourage me to read another of hers too soon. I have a nice long list of authors i love so it'll be a little while before I give her another try. Perhaps I chose the wrong book of hers to start with but, we'll see I suppose.

I'm always up for suggestions, though i'll warn you lol I do really only read
/historical/ romances : ) Not really into contemporary.
